Chandigarh, 9th June, 2015
Main hawa hoon aandhi na bana mujhko
Main jeewan hoon mita bhi sakti hu tujhko
Na sata mujhe, na dara mujhe
Na jhuka mujhe, na aazmaa mujhe

A woman can be as soft as air and as hard as a tornado. The men, on the other hand, can just think of dominating, but they can never do. We, the women, were equal and will always be. Punjabi actress Mandy Takhar will now be seen showing her singing skills. She has come out with her first ever single ‘Hawa Hoon Main’ which has been themed on women empowerment. The Hindi single, which goes online on YouTube channel Filmy Shots on Wednesday has been penned down by Baljinder S. Mahant who also happens to be the director of the video.
Says Mandy, “I don’t know why women are looked down upon. Every corner of the world is talking about empowering them but there is hardly any effort in that direction. I made up my mind to be instrumental in this and met the team of FilmyShots where we decided to come out with this song.” This song was featured in the background in the last short film of the channel ‘Goonj’. Mandy played the lead girl in the film.
The lady behind the concept, Prabhjot Kaur said that we not only wanted to give a song or an anthem to women but actually present it as a thought. This song would act on their psychology and will make them stronger. Being a woman, I could feel each and every word of the song and felt on cloud nine. Mandy has actually become the voice of all women and I am proud of working with her.
The director Baljinder S. Mahant has been associated with the film industry since years and has been continuously innovating on giving entertainment a new definition. He told, “We want this song to reach every woman of the country, even to the remotest part, so that it becomes her voice. Not only the cruel men, but the society, the government and the nation as a whole understand that women are no less than anyone. They are not there to be dominated, to be disrespected, to be beaten up, to be raped and to be harassed.”
The music of the song has been composed by JSL Singh. The creative director of FilmyShots Manjit Hans conceptualizes with Baljinder and along with their creative team he is working hard to reach millions of people through the channel free of cost. Apparently, the viewers pay nothing to watch the films and can catch up as soon as the film is released. This saves their time as well as their money.
